To commemorate the Oklahoma City Memorial and Museum's 30th anniversary, our team managed and led the design & strategy of activating and beautifying 6th street in downtown OKC from the interstate to the Memorial grounds.
Through partnering with the Memorial, Downtown Oklahoma City Partnership and the City of Oklahoma City, we were able to add significance and meaning to 6th Street's entry point and underpass that leads thousands of guests to the Memorial's sacred grounds every year.
This act of placemaking will allow the Memorial's message of hope and light to be experienced by residents and visitors every day as they make their way into downtown.

PROBLEM: 6th Street had not been updated in over 30 years. The Memorial wanted to fix this problem as a ‘thank you’ to the city during its anniversary.

SOLUTION: Add a gateway into downtown OKC, resurface the corridor, and beautify an underpass along the street.

ACTION: BE THE LIGHT - a call to action in the form of placemaking that encourages people to show kindness every day.
