Montgomery is a city of 11,000 people located 20-minutes north of Downtown Cincinnati. The City engaged a team led by YARD & Company to create a comprehensive planning process that addresses the variety of challenges and opportunities that have evolved over the last two decades since the previous plan. The project has fostered a community-wide discussion on ways to support strategic growth and quality of life improvements that complement the City’s historic and family-oriented identity. The Plan is organized around five major goals: refine the character and experience along the community’s primary corridor; focus development in key areas; diversify housing options in a context-sensitive way; expand walkability and bikeability throughout the city; and foster a vibrant and unified Downtown District. A project brand and engagement strategy has provided a wide-range of community involvement. Engineers and planners with Kimley-Horn are supporting this planning effort as it seeks completion in early summer 2024.
